So what are the RULES before you make frugalicious travel plans??? LOL!

First rule:
PLAN and RESEARCH

One of the simplest reason why we didn’t break the bank for our BALI VACAY  is for it to be planned A YEAR in advance. After all it was our 40th so, it figures!

If you can do all your reservations for hotel, air plane tickets, chauffeur services, entertainment programs and trip bookings etc. – and lock these discounted products and services ahead, it’s going to save you enough money to ensure yet another vacation.

Find yourself a great APP to help you research and plan in advance the location of your choice. And when I say advance, that is if you can plot your vacay that far, I mean WAY advance.
I used AGODA.COMTravel Advisor andBOOKING.COM. And so peeps, I want to share to you an article of BOOKING.COM about our hotel, theGRAND INNA KUTA.

RULE TWO:
Know thyself…errr your budget and stick to it.
Like this instance when in Bali, Depansar Indonesia. It wasn’t cheap, but I am proud to say that we went home with 20k well intact in our wallets, debt-free and even feasted on airport knickknacks and food on the way home.
I understand that most would go home with credit card debts and even wanting more of everything they’re going to leave behind; more experiences, more food, more shopping etc. There is nothing to be ashamed of! I’ve been there. It’s normal right? But why do the normal thing when you know you’ll probably get in trouble following it.

Do you really want to regret going before you’ve even arrived home?

We are made of the same stuff, but our motivations will bring us to happiness or ruination. Sounds harsh even for a holiday…but SO true!

RULE THREE:
Happiness is contentment.
No ifs and buts.
Please do not be fooled by our amazement and excitement, nor our general enthusiasm about the places we saw. My husband and I? We are mostly childlike -thankfully – not childish. “(Can’t you tell from the video?”)But we’re not newbies in travelling.

I was an international flight attendant and had been in different kinds of hotel rooms around the world.  But for me, if you are happy and you know it…show it! Why bottle happiness up when you can appreciate people and things around you. So, please know that we are not ‘simple’ when it comes to these matters. We know what we are talking about, and that’s usually how it is when we talk about something.

The point is, no matter how rich you are, if you can not amuse nor even find happiness in the grandest things, then how can you expect yourself to be frugal? In this lifestyle, moderation is an art to perfect.

So, try to have a talk with your companions regarding your over-all expectation about the trip. Here are some further tips to give you an idea;

– Don’t be a glutton for punishment or pleasure.

– Don’t think the vacation will be ruined if you don’t finish everything in your itinerary.

– Make sure that you and your companions will still be happy even after the vacation. No one wa ts a drag specially after a helluva good time!

Many a vacations are ruined because of poor money management and the aftermath bills of the holiday. So be very careful on this one. You want happy memories, not a mountain of debts to remind you of the holiday.

So we’ll start out slow and ease into the BALI ON A BUDGET vacation series. Did you already watch our AIR PLANE RIDE? If not, you can check it out here;

Again, thanks for watching and please watch out for our next uploads, so you can travel, the Frugalicious Way too!

without taking out the smart in it!”
